On this page of the site I wanted to address some of the more common questions I have been asked in the past.

Q. The Police Department in my area said they will do an off season check of my property for free.

A. I was on the Police Department and I can tell you what is done. They have an "away" list in the cars. When they get a chance they take a swing past the vacant homes. What they look for mostly is break-ins. If the doors and windows feel locked, the home is considered secure.

What if there is a water leak inside the home? What if the burglar entered but relocked the door? In these cases and many more, the property check is called in as all secure.

Q. My home at the shore has been fine for years, why do I need you?

A. Just as with everything, the world is changing. Years ago we never locked a door but that has changes. So has the lifestyle at the shore changes.

Years ago most people just has a summer bungalow style home. Now we have high end homes as well as high tech items in the homes. Every spring there is a growing number of flat screen TV's that walk over the winter months. What do YOU want protected?

Q. Why is it so important that I have an interior check done if a good outside check was done in the first place.

A. The quick answer is to try to head off problems while they are still in the smaller stage. If a "pest" gets in, you want it found NOW, not 2 or 3 months later. That drip on the second floor is a small problem. Let it go and now you have major damage done to your investment.

One big problem in this area is wind. If a panel of siding blows off or a few roof shingles blow, you want to catch that early on before the next storm really tears off large sections.

Q. What happens if something is found out of order with the home?

A. I carry and work off of an I-Phone. If I see a problem I try to call you right away. The second thing I do is take pictures of the damage or problem and send them to you as well so you can take a more educated response to the problem. The goal is to prevent you taking the time and cost to drive to the shore. You hear about it as well as see pictures, all w/o the drive.
